Internal Poster Child

Original Mixed Media Canvas Painting

45 × 60 cm

Behind every smile, there's a story you cannot see.

Internal Poster Child is an original mixed media painting exploring identity, emotional expression and the complicated relationship between what we show the world and what we carry within ourselves.

At the centre sits Internal, the mischievous, wide-eyed character whose exaggerated grin has become a recurring symbol within Rambling's creative world.

Against a backdrop of soft peach tones, intricate floral patterns and unapologetic black paint drips, Internal appears almost playful. Yet beneath that oversized smile lies something less straightforward.

A reminder that appearances rarely tell the whole story.

The contrast between the decorative background and the rough, graffiti-inspired character reflects the contradictions of the human experience. Happiness and sadness. Innocence and chaos. The desire to belong and the instinct to withdraw.

Created through layers of spray paint, stencilling, texture and expressive mark-making, the painting embraces imperfection rather than attempting to conceal it.

Internal was never intended to be perfect. He exists as an expression of the thoughts, feelings and experiences that don't always find their way into words.

Sometimes the biggest smiles hide the loudest minds.
